Most modern humans are immigrants from Planet Earth, they have not grown their own food or designed and planted their own garden beds. Once divorced from this cycle of life, plants and gardening are a mystery, an impossible chore. Why? This is true because gardening is a practice that requires a connection to plants and depends on an understanding of plant biology (encompassing anatomy, morphology, development, reproduction, genetics and ecology) and demands at least an intuitive grasp of the dynamics of the atmosphere, photosphere, rhizosphere and hydrocycle. When you are not 'native' to that, it's pretty foreign, like you've landed on the moon.

To garden effectively means becoming an ecological engineer: planting with density and diversity for vertical and horizontal design which is sustainable and attractive for all four seasons of the year. Sound hard? Nope, it makes gardening easier! And we're right here to help you.
